If you are age 70½ or older, you may make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) of up to $111,000 in 2026 directly from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) to the Tuskegee Airmen National Historical Museum (TANHM).
A QCD offers a tax-efficient way to support TANHM by reducing your taxable income while making a meaningful impact. For donors aged 73 and older, these contributions can also count toward your Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs).
You may also be eligible to make a one-time gift of up to $55,000 (as of 2026) from your IRA to establish a charitable remainder trust (CRT) or charitable gift annuity (CGA). For married couples, each of you can donate up to your individual annual limit. For donors interested in making a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) to TANHM, please contact Lola Rushin at (313) 843-8849 or lrushin@tuskegeemuseum.org
Stocks, mutual funds, and bonds are assets some donors consider gifting. Directly donating these assets to TANHM will eliminate any capital gains tax burden for you related to the sale or transfer of these assets. You may also receive a charitable income tax deduction for the value of your gift. To learn more, please contact (313) 843-8849 or lrushin@tuskegeemuseum.org
The Aviation Legacy Society honors and thanks individuals who have included the Tuskegee Airmen National Historical Museum (TANHM) in their estate plans. Your legacy gift sustains and advances the Tuskegee Airmen’s mission of Preserving History and Inspiring Futures.
If you have already included TANHM in your will or made another type of planned gift, we encourage you to notify us. Your willingness to be recognized as a Legacy Society member inspires others to consider similar gifts. While we fully respect the wishes of those who prefer to remain anonymous, sharing your plans confidentially helps us prepare for the future and honor your intentions.
To learn more or let us know you’ve included TANHM in your estate plans, please contact (313) 843-8849 or lrushin@tuskegeemuseum.org
