You can make an immediate gift today online, by mail, or by phone. In addition, TANHM offers a variety of ways to give—through your retirement account, gifts of stock, estate planning, and other meaningful opportunities that allow you to leave a lasting legacy.

Explore the options below to find the giving method that best fits your goals and values.

Supporting the Tuskegee Airmen National Historical Museum (TANHM) with Your Individual Retirement Account (IRA)

If you are age 70½ or older, you may make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) of up to $108,000 in 2025 directly from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) to the Tuskegee Airmen National Historical Museum (TANHM).

A QCD offers a tax-efficient way to support TANHM by reducing your taxable income while making a meaningful impact. For donors aged 73 and older, these contributions can also count toward your Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs).

IRA-Funded Life Income Gifts:
You may also be eligible to make a one-time gift of up to $54,000 (as of 2025) from your IRA to establish a Charitable Gift Annuity (CGA) or a Charitable Remainder Trust (CRT). These gifts provide you (and/or your spouse) with lifetime income, and the remainder supports the future mission of TANHM.

For donors interested in making a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) to TANHM, we have provided a form (I will provide the form) to assist you in communicating directly with your retirement account administrator. To learn more please contact (313) 843-8849  or info@tuskegeemuseum.org

Supporting Tuskegee Airmen National Historical Museum (TANHM) with Gifts of Stock:

Stocks, mutual funds, and bonds are assets some donors consider gifting. Directly donating these assets to TANHM will eliminate any capital gains tax burden for you related to the sale or transfer of these assets. You may also receive a charitable income tax deduction for the value of your gift. To learn more please contact (313) 843-8849  or info@tuskegeemuseum.org

  • Bequest Intention: Many of the Tuskegee Airmen National Historical Museum (TANHM) past achievements have been made possible by legacies from friends. Your will or trust could help shape TANHM’s successes in the future.
  • Retirement Assets: Retirement accounts such as IRAs, 401(k)s, 403(b)s, other employer-sponsored plans, and financial accounts can be powerful tools for legacy giving. Naming the Tuskegee Airmen National Historical Museum (TANHM) as a beneficiary can be a simple and tax-efficient way to make a lasting impact.
  • Life InsuranceLife insurance is often overlooked as an asset that you can use to make gifts to the Tuskegee Airmen National Historical Museum (TANHM). You may wish to make the museum the beneficiary of a policy and support TANHM programs with an insurance-related gift.
  • Real Estate and Other Non-cash Assets: Gifts of real estate, business interests, or other non-cash assets can provide significant tax benefits while supporting the mission of TANHM. These planned gifts allow you to make a meaningful impact without affecting your current cash flow.

  • Charitable Gift Annuity (CGA): A Charitable Gift Annuity is a simple way to support TANHM while receiving steady income for life. You make a gift of cash or appreciated assets, and in return, you receive fixed payments, part of which may be tax-free. The remaining value of your gift will support TANHM. A CGA also provides an immediate tax deduction and can help supplement your retirement income.

  • Charitable Remainder TrustA charitable remainder trust (CRT) is a life-income arrangement that provides you and/or other beneficiaries with a stream of income for life or years. After the trust ends, the remaining assets are directed to support the Tuskegee Airmen National Museum and Flight Academy. It’s a flexible way to meet personal financial goals while making a lasting impact.
